SALC grant contract approved, Ag Tour planned to spotlight direct‑market farms

Agricultural Commissioner Josh Huntsinger told the commission that the Board of Supervisors approved a contract to begin work on the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) Grant. Huntsinger stated, "the contract to begin work on the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) Grant was approved by the Board of Supervisors on March 24, 2026," and staff will work with a consultant and local stakeholders to develop a conservation plan.
Huntsinger also announced an Ag Tour scheduled for May 26, 2026 with stops including the Roseville Farmers' Market at The Fountains and Saeng’s Strawberry Stand, beginning and ending at Granite Bay Park. The department invited commission members and the public to participate and to suggest marketing ideas for the county's agricultural program.
