The Kingsbury County Board of County Commissioners met Jan. 6 in De Smet for its annual reorganization. Echo Steffensen, county auditor, opened the meeting and the board nominated and elected Commissioner Kyle Lee as chairman. "Motion by Spilde, second by Lundquist to nominate Kyle Lee as Chairman of the Board," the record shows; a subsequent motion to cease nominations produced a unanimous vote in favor of Lee.
After Lee assumed the chair, the board nominated and unanimously elected Commissioner Corey Lundquist as vice chairman. The board also reviewed and confirmed the existing 2025 board appointment assignments for 2026, keeping commissioners on the same committees and liaison roles for the year.
