Dr. Best, the district27s Healthy Lifestyles director, presented the proposed membership for the materials-review committee that will evaluate human sexuality and human anatomy curriculum materials for the 2026–27 school year.
"I'd like to formally present the membership of the... human sexuality materials review committee for... it completes the state board rule r 277, 4 74 74 dash 5," Dr. Best told the board and asked for approval. Dr. Best explained administrative appointments and lottery selections are two-year terms on alternating years and that the committee will meet quarterly or as needed.
Ms. Barber moved approval and Ms. Stevens seconded; the board approved the committee by voice vote. Dr. Best said the coming year would be heavier in review work because of CTE and other curriculum changes.
