Senate passes bill strengthening HOA disclosure and buyer protections

"The House amendment added additional protections for folks in homeowners associations regarding statements that have to give information regarding any future dues fees or assessments which have been formally approved by an HOA for payment at a future date," Senator Bussello said. The amendment (House Amendment 5129) was adopted; the Senate read the bill for final passage and the roll-call recorded 47 ayes and 0 nays.
Sponsor remarks emphasized transaction transparency for buyers and an ability for sellers to void sales when required inspection materials are not delivered to the seller.
