Denton trustees set budget hearing and approve 1% restricted levy; claims totaling $24,722.31 cleared

At the Sept. 8 meeting the Denton Village Board set the fiscal-year budget hearing for Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. Trustee Amanda Fangmeier moved to set the hearing; the motion carried.
Trustees voted to exceed the budget limit by an additional 1% of restricted funds for the 2025–26 budget year. The motion to approve the 1% additional levy was moved by Doug Rosekrans and seconded by Ryan Osborn; recorded ayes were Osborn, Fangmeier, Hobelman and Rosekrans and the measure carried. No dissenting votes were recorded; one trustee was absent.
The board also approved claims: List A totaled $20,642.49 (including $9,734.00 to McGuire Iron for the water tower main plan and $1,395.91 to WRT for water treatment monthly fee) and List B totaled $4,079.82; August net payroll was listed as $9,197.29. Trustee Rosekrans moved, seconded by Fangmeier, to approve the claims and payroll; the motion carried.
