DeWitt County puts FY26 levies and budget on display, schedules Oct. 30 special meeting

Chairman Witte told the Board the FY26 levies and budget were placed on public display after a motion carried at the Oct. 23 meeting. The Board approved a call note to schedule a special meeting on Oct. 30, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the County Board Room to address time-sensitive finance items.
Commissioner Ferguson said the Finance committee did not meet because it lacked a quorum and requested the special meeting to complete items that cannot wait until the regular November meeting. County Board Administrator Dee Dee Rentmeister reported the Highway Department accepted the county’s final offer on a personnel matter; she said she expects that item to be brought to the full board in November for a vote.
The levies and budget are now on public display in accordance with county procedures; the Oct. 30 special meeting will be used to address approvals requiring action before November.
