Farmington council hears updates on bids, rec programs and remodel design

Powell reported that the mill-and-overlay project is out for bids and that bid results are expected next week for council consideration. Parks staff announced the fall 'Currents' mailer and noted youth flag football registration is open for kindergarten through eighth grade with registration closing Aug. 12 and a registration link at farmington.org. A staff member updated the council on expansion and remodel design progress, noting recent meetings on HVAC, plumbing and interior design and that interviews with construction managers are scheduled to refine cost estimates.
The fire department said it will participate in National Night Out the following evening to engage the community outside of emergency responses. No formal approvals or budget allocations for these items were made during the meeting; staff indicated they will return with bids, cost estimates or program materials as appropriate.
