Leilani Community Association board approves vote counting for proposed electronic voting change

President Richard Willing moved that "All members’ votes will count in the vote on changing the bylaws to allow electronic communication and voting as the board has not executed the process required by our bylaws to take away any member’s right to vote." After discussion about past attorney opinions and difficulty notifying members because of a faulty membership list, the board approved the motion 4 in favor (Richard Willing, Smiley, John Segalla, Janice Tucker) and 2 opposed (Rod Kindel, Al Morrow).
The vote clears a procedural hurdle so the membership as a whole will be entitled to participate when the board processes ballots on the proposed bylaw revision. Board members raised concerns about the accuracy of the members' list and county data delays; Jim F. earlier warned that county backlog complicates rebuilding an accurate membership roster. The board said it will proceed with the membership vote under the motion's terms.
