Board hears maintenance report: park may close monthly for upkeep; trash and facilities strain rising

Michael Hauanio, reporting for maintenance, said work to finish road shoulders and additional scraping and side-arm maintenance are planned, and that exercise equipment around the walking track will be pressure-washed. He recommended closing the park at least once a month to carry out thorough maintenance.
Hauanio said bathrooms require new commercial-grade toilets to better accommodate park visitors and that the tractor will need end-of-season maintenance. He also noted an increase in visitors, reflected in trash hauling which has increased to about three trips weekly compared with one trip previously.
