The planning commission granted final site-plan approval for a detached two-bay garage at 1755 Park Street, subject to confirmation by the city engineer that a percolation test and proposed drainage design are acceptable.
Owner Santos Passato told the commission that architectural and engineering materials had been submitted. Consulting engineering reported that one outstanding item was a percolation test; the applicant's team said the test had been performed but the results had not yet been received by the city. "They will do [the percolation test] at the beginning of construction or before construction, actually," the consulting engineer said. The proposed structure includes two garage bays, a second-floor storage loft (not habitable), removal of an existing brown shed in the rear yard, and an extended driveway to provide two-car width access to the garage.
The commission closed the public hearing, deemed the matter a Type II SEQR action with no further environmental review, and voted to grant final site-plan approval conditioned on the city engineer's review and acceptance of the percolation test; if the city engineer requires additional work, the applicant may need to return to the commission. The chair asked the applicant to provide the percolation test results to the planning or building department.
