The Henry County Board debated proposed revisions to the Rules of the County Board during a lengthy discussion on April 16. Marshall Jones moved the revisions and Jan May seconded; an amendment to remove a provision requiring members to announce reasons for abstaining was proposed, debated and a motion to send the rules back to committee failed. The main motion then passed on roll call with 18 "Aye" votes and one "Nay" (Kippy Breeden).
Later in the meeting the board approved Ordinance O26-03 to adjust county board member per diem rates, effective Dec. 1, 2026. The roll call for O26-03 recorded 19 "Aye" votes and one absent member; the ordinance carried. The minutes record the ordinance number but do not print the new per-diem rate; the clerk's office holds the ordinance text.
