Council updates employee meal-reimbursement policy to use GSA rates

City Clerk Martinez summarized the change: the handbook's breakfast, lunch and dinner reimbursement rates have not been updated since before 2008 and the resolution directs the city to reference GSA rates to set per‑location reimbursements. "This is a resolution to approve the change on a meal reimbursement for employees traveling," Martinez said. The clerk said the GSA tool allows the city to determine rates by location.
Councilperson Ramos moved to approve Resolution 14-R-2026-2027 updating handbook section 4.10 on meal reimbursements; Councilperson Martinez seconded. The council took a roll-call vote and the resolution passed.
The resolution directs staff to apply the updated rate-setting approach; specific dollar amounts will follow GSA schedules for travel locations.
