Parkland board approves three-year teacher contract; two board members abstain

Two board members publicly declared conflicts of interest and abstained: one said their son is a PEA member and another said his wife and daughter are PEA members. After the vote, Sandy Gochenbach, the Parkland Education Association president, addressed the board and said the agreement "represents countless hours of work, discussion, and ultimately, compromise" and that the association looks forward to implementation.
