At the regular meeting following the finance workshop, the Parkland School Board voted to place the administration’s proposed final general fund budget on public display for 30 days. The document — the PDE-2028 form presented to the board — lists projected expenditures of $248,755,099 and a proposed real-estate tax rate of 17.8 mills for 2025–26.
Board members praised the months-long budgeting process, including the full-day seminar and finance-committee review. One board member said the budget represents a balance of program priorities and fiscal responsibility: “This budget allows us to hire the best administrators... It allows us to hire the best teachers,” the chair told the meeting. Following the vote, administration said it will monitor state funding, insurance renewals and utility costs and return to committee in June with any proposed modifications before final adoption on June 17.
