The Natural Resources Advisory Committee reviewed the Nevada Division of Water Resources' January filings and an application filed on behalf of Nye County for an additional diversion rate from Railroad Valley (Application 94911).
Jeremy Drew of Resource Concepts, Inc. told the committee the Railroad Valley filing was submitted for diversion only and, based on the application materials, he did not see a need for a local hearing. The chair and committee members agreed there was insufficient cause to hold a hearing, and no motion was made; the item died for lack of a motion.
Drew also noted a small number of other filings, including Robinson Mining Company filings in Elko County and two filings in Nye County; Chairman Odgers flagged applications east of Wells in 189B related to potential lithium exploration. The committee discussed the incoming State Water Engineer who begins March 30 and said they would continue to monitor filings that may affect local water resources.
