Henry County committee approves job changes, ratifies Hillcrest Home pact and rejects $70,000 marketing pitch

The Henry County Health and Social Services Committee met April 8 in the Hillcrest Conference Room and handled several personnel and contract items. Member Mark Burton successfully moved to approve a slate of job description updates; Member Kippy Breeden was recorded as the lone dissent on the roll call. After a closed session on personnel and bargaining, the committee approved the Hillcrest Home collective bargaining agreement on a subsequent roll call vote.
The committee also voted unanimously to reject a proposed digital marketing plan after Administrator Kevin Powell noted the cost "exceeded $70,000." A proposed laboratory services agreement with Hammond Henry Hospital was withdrawn by Member Kathy Nelson and deferred for review by the state's attorney. Administrator Powell provided an update on facility matters and the claims report before the committee recessed into closed session.
