Vice Chair Brent Bammarito reported that a petition has been circulated and collected 93 signatures — all but one signatory are registered voters. The petition objects to amendments in the proposed short-term rental (STR) ordinance, specifically changes to the moratorium on a one-year waiting period before a purchased property can be used as an STR and the proposed cap limiting rentals to 50 nights per year.
Brent said the Select Board will discuss the ordinance at its June 16 meeting and that the matter will proceed to a town vote afterward. Commissioners noted the ordinance will be revisited annually and that the Select Board review is the next formal step.
