The Londonderry Planning Commission on May 26 recorded concerns from at least three residents about a recently approved amendment that requires a one-year waiting period before a newly purchased property can be used as a short-term rental.
Clerk Pamela J. Spaulding said residents feared an appeal might be filed against the amendment. Spaulding reported that Andy, the town STR administrator, has authority to issue tickets with substantial fines and is scheduled to visit Bent Apple Farm to verify the number of units; "In meetings he has mentioned 10 but in the reply from the state and in a newspaper, 11 units were mentioned," Spaulding said. The commission noted that ACT 250 processes were referenced in recent state responses related to the property.
No formal enforcement action was taken at the May 26 meeting; commissioners asked staff to follow up on the administrator's site visit and any resulting findings.
