The Board approved emergency procurement on July 14 after Mr. Phil Schoon reported Pump #1 at Lift Station 11 had failed; Pump #2 remained in service. Schoon presented two options: buy a new motor from Smith & Loveless for $11,023 (about two weeks delivery) or rebuild the existing motor for roughly $5,000 (three to four weeks). The Board authorized purchasing the new motor to restore full operation and also approved rebuilding the failed motor for inventory as a backup, with a rebuild cost cap not to exceed $6,000.
Schoon also sought authorization to buy a portable Roland generator—intended primarily for Lift Station 14 and for redeployment after that station is eliminated. Multiple quotes were solicited and reimbursement funds tied to a data-center agreement were reported as available; the Board approved the $84,350 purchase. Mr. Alex Metz authorized the purchase of the new motor during the meeting.
