Marseilles Elementary School District #150's board approved a package of handbook updates for the 2025–26 school year during its May 22 meeting.
The changes include a requirement that students prescribed medical marijuana be registered with the Illinois Department of Public Health, updated Medicaid billing information, and a clarification that students excused from physical education by a doctor's note will also be excused from physical activity during recess. The handbook also updates parent-communication procedures, retires the PBIS name in favor of "RISE," and adds suicide-prevention hotline contacts. The district will allow modifications to athletic uniforms for reasons of religious or cultural modesty. School staff will also review PUNS registration (the statewide planning/needs database for people with developmental disabilities) as part of each IEP annual review to determine whether a student is registered.
