Service Director Matt Hiscock told the Committee the ordinance authorizes staff to advertise for proposals and enter a contract for design services aimed at Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) reduction in SSO Areas 6 and 8. He said the work is budgeted in the 2026 professional services line and that staff were close to meeting the procurement requirements needed to solicit and award a design contract. "Essentially this was a budgeted professional services agreement in the 2026 Budget," Hiscock said.
Council moved the ordinance to second reading so staff could finalize procurement documents and return with contract recommendations. The Clerk assigned Ordinance No. 26-068 for further consideration.
