Brickyard Passive Park work begins; trail, restroom and security plans outlined

Assistant Director Jon Bellack said work on the passive portion of the Brickyard Park project began this week after wet conditions delayed earlier work. He described completed design for a pond loop trail that will be bid soon, noted residents provided input on site layout and buffering, and said landscaping, split-rail fencing options and lighting plans will be advanced with attention to nuisance mitigation.
Bellack reported the State Engineer had approved placement of a CXT restroom; production will begin with estimated delivery in mid-to-late July, though delivery depends on site readiness. Staff also plan to install a City camera at the trailhead and examine manual and electronic gate options; funding and final choices will be subject to the upcoming budget process and bid results.
