Assistant Director Jon Bellack updated the committee on Brickyard Park remediation and said on-site materials are being sorted to ensure only clean fill is placed into the consolidation basin; asbestos or other contaminated materials will be hauled off to licensed disposal facilities. Bellack emphasized the City will not place contaminated brick or concrete in the consolidation basin and that both an environmental consultant and the remediation contractor are overseeing the disposal process.
Bellack said the Seville Road temporary access design is complete and will be bid in the coming weeks to provide contractor access and a base roadway for parking-area access that minimizes impacts to other trailheads. The project remains subject to bid results and contractor scheduling. Staff will return to the committee with procurement results when available.
