WCTV producer warns staffing changes threaten station's community role

She said three employees left in the past ten months, including a retirement and a relocation, leaving one staff person currently responsible for operations. "WCTV had helped expand her professional recognition ... resulting in both national and international visibility," Merrix said while urging consideration for the station's future staffing model.
Merrix described WCTV as an important community resource and asked Council to consider long-term sustainability and staffing support. Council acknowledged the comment; there was no formal Council action during the meeting to change WCTV's staffing or funding.
