District staff recommended the board approve two items designed to ensure compliance with CalPERS and public employee retirement regulations: a senior management salary schedule and an employment workbook that documents assignments and certifications. Doug (staff) presented the items and said the updates are intended to solidify current practices and protect retiree benefits.
"This is not to give raises to anyone. This is to solidify what we actually are doing," Superintendent Shelton said, explaining the changes stem from recent retirements and an internal review that identified alignment issues. The board took roll‑call votes and approved both items.
Staff described the measures as process and documentation changes and said they will return implementation updates to the board as human-resources work proceeds.
