Developer asks for six-month extension while revising PUD; commission grants holdover

The Fairhope City Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday granted a six-month holdover requested by Core Development for PUD application ZC 25.08 so the applicant can finalize stormwater and site-plan revisions.
Doug Anderson, representing Core Development, told the commission the team has completed a professional stormwater analysis and is preparing a revised site plan that removes 60-foot lots on the southern portion of the property, creates ten 1-acre lots and dedicates a park. "We're asking for another 6 months," Anderson said, adding that staff has reviewed preliminary work and the team has been meeting with city staff while refining the plan.
Commissioners debated whether to set a sunset on holdovers to avoid indefinite tabling. Staff said the six-month request was the applicant’s choice and that placing time limits on tabled items is now routine to avoid stale cases. Commissioner 8 moved to grant the six-month extension; the motion passed by voice vote.
