Raymer Flynn, executive director of the Santa Monica Education Foundation, told the board the foundation is midway toward its $1.8 million annual gift goal and outlined fundraising events and strategies. "We have raised 51% of the $1,800,000 that we need to give toward the gift to the district as of October 15," he said.
Flynn reported that pledge week brought in more than $200,000 from 364 donors and that the foundation received a $50,000 flash match from an anonymous donor. He described upcoming events and an April 26 wine-auction fundraiser at the Fairmont, and said the foundation will continue outreach through January and on Giving Tuesday (Dec. 2).
Board members thanked the foundation for partnership and participation across schools; Flynn noted efforts to grow endowments for athletics and other sustained programs.
