The Amelia County Board unanimously approved a $0.50 increase to the utility rate for the first 3,000 gallons after staff presented scenarios comparing a $0.25 increase and a $0.50 increase. County Administrator Eric Pollitt and staff presented documentation of the options; the Board decided on the $0.50 option and directed staff to run required legal advertisements in June and to revisit rates annually.
Board members discussed the customer impact scenarios and agreed to the increase by unanimous vote (four present, one absent). Pollitt said staff and deputy Daryl Gough had worked through the rate scenarios in advance of the meeting.
