VDOT outlines spring roadwork and ADA ramp upgrades; Amelia Day logistics reviewed

The representative drew attention to ADA upgrades in the Amelia Courthouse area — several curb ramps will be upgraded to current standards by late April/early May to be completed ahead of Amelia Day.
The board and event organizers discussed Amelia Day logistics, including street sweeping (not available via lease this fiscal year), staging for a 12-person National Guard ensemble, fireworks safety zones and road-closure recommendations. VDOT said contractors are aware of Amelia Day and will time concrete pours to avoid impacts. The representative invited questions and flagged ongoing traffic studies and maintenance items staff are tracking.
