County approves polling‑place move for one precinct after building sale

The Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners voted May 5 to approve resolution 26‑05‑044, authorizing a polling‑place location change for the 2026 primary and general elections after the previously used building was sold and remodeled.
County Clerk Vita Sean Thompson told the board the former location had been remodeled and no longer contained the space the elections office had used; her staff searched for alternative locations in the district and recommended The Rock at 1100 Big Horn Avenue because of parking, ADA access and secure equipment storage. She said the county notified more than 700 voters in the affected district and contacted local party chairs and published notice in the press.
A commissioner moved to approve the resolution and authorize the chair to sign; the motion carried with no recorded opposition.
