Council approves Eversource and Verizon conduit installations on Warwick, Cedar, Somerville Avenue and Bow Street

The Somerville City Council approved a series of grants of location requested by Eversource and Verizon to install conduit in city rights‑of‑way. Jackie Duffy of Eversource described installations to serve 13 Warwick Street (approximately six feet of conduit) and 33 Cedar Street (roughly 68 feet), and Alexander Marrero, a contractor for Verizon, described two Verizon petitions to place new 4‑inch conduits on Somerville Avenue (about 305 feet) and on Bow Street (approximately 385 feet). Each public hearing closed with no opposition and the council approved each petition.
"We'd like to install a 6 feet of conduit in Warwick Street to provide electric service to 13 Warwick Street," Jackie Duffy said during the hearing. Alexander Marrero also introduced Verizon’s site plans and routing for the Somerville Avenue and Bow Street conduits; councilors recorded approvals and closed the hearings in succession.
