Del Bruens, chairman of the Public Building Commission, told the committee that Emily Lattz has been "more than qualified," that the commission receives no pay, and that members are preparing to oversee a major courthouse addition project. Chairman Chase McCall and Mr. Bruens said they will consult counsel about the legal and notification issues before the board takes action.
The committee did not take a formal vote on any appointment and preserved the motion to accept the agenda while asking that appointment actions be deferred until outstanding concerns -- including timely notice to prospective appointees and potential conflicts involving family members -- are resolved. The committee recorded a unanimous voice vote to accept the agenda as written and to table appointment action for the Public Building Commission.
