Treasurer Karen told the finance committee that bank balances at the end of October totaled $26,754,843.32 and that receipts for the period were $8,249,854.83. She also cited October sales tax receipts of $279,003.62 and said the county will follow up on delinquent tax reporting after resolving data issues in the new system.
Karen said legal descriptions need updating for some parcels before tax-interim court scheduling and confirmed staff will continue to work with the new Southcore system to produce reliable delinquent/current tax numbers for the committee. Committee members asked follow-up questions about sale-of-parcel handling and the treasurer described typical closing procedures and options for recovering delinquent taxes.
