Piedmont Beautification Foundation gives city $60,000 to refresh parks and public spaces

The City of Piedmont accepted a $60,000 gift from the Piedmont Beautification Foundation on the council dais, honoring the organization's 60th anniversary. "We are delighted to present the city with this anniversary gift of $60,000," said Patty Dunlap, identified at the meeting as the foundation's president.
Mayor Betsy Smigel Anderson read a proclamation that traced the foundation's work since its 05/13/1964 incorporation and thanked volunteers and donors for creating an endowment to support parks, street plantings, and maintenance. The proclamation lists several partnership projects, including City Hall improvements, Piedmont Park enhancements and public art installations.
Dunlap told the council the funds are designated to "refresh and enhance many of the projects" PBF completed with the city and encouraged residents to learn about the foundation's work on its website. The council invited volunteers for a photo with the proclamation and publicly thanked PBF for continued collaboration.
