Administration announces free well testing, $125,000 DEED grant application and audit status

City Administrator Candace Bruder reported several public water-testing opportunities and administrative updates. She announced a Free Private Well Water Screening on Wednesday, Aug. 27 from 1–6 p.m. at the Stearns County Fairgrounds and Free Nitrate Water Tests Wednesday–Friday 12–4 p.m. at the Todd County Soil and Water office. Bruder said the sale of ECP Enterprises was finalized Aug. 13 and that auditors are wrapping up, with an expected completion on Aug. 15.
Bruder added the city applied for a $125,000 DEED grant to fund public-works-related needs, including possible security cameras at the water treatment plant and other locations; she said if the grant is not awarded the city will reevaluate budget options. She also noted a recommendation from auditors to implement an invoice module to track receivables, and proposed training for staff at upcoming clerk/finance conferences.
