City Engineer Kent Louwagie reported the Main Lift Station became live on Aug. 11 and must operate for 30 days before demolition of the old station. He told the council the contractor has requested a delay of paving until next spring to avoid freeze-thaw damage and to prevent damage when demolishing old equipment; Louwagie said there is no increase in contract cost associated with the request though there may be additional engineering expenses.
The council approved Pay Application No. 7 to C & L Excavation; the meeting record shows the engineer presented the pay application in the amount of $14,820 (noting approximately 78% completion), and the council motion to approve records the payable amount as $14,280. The council also approved ARC Electric’s quote of $5,776.25 for the Well 6 standby generator. The engineer’s update also noted completed work on Trunk Highway 287 managed by MnDOT and installation of crosswalk flashers.
