After discussing previously received estimates, the council approved contracting Lynn Lembcke Consulting to conduct an audit of body-worn cameras and license-plate-reader use for $1,150. The council motion to accept the Lembcke Consulting bid was made by Council Member JoAnn Schroeder, seconded by Council Member Gabrier Perez, and adopted unanimously.
City staff had earlier tabled the item pending more detail about what each audit option covered; the council selected the consultant noted in the meeting record as offering a comprehensive scope at competitive pricing. The audit contract is intended to review current body-camera and LPR practices and provide recommendations to ensure compliance and effective use.
