Long Prairie council approves $116,399.70 in payments and a generator change order for city water projects

The council on Aug. 27 approved two pay applications to ARC Electric for generator work and a subsequent change order to the Well No. 6 generator. City Engineer Kent Louwagie presented Pay Application No. 1 for $16,150 for the Well No. 6 generator project and Pay Application No. 1 for $100,249.70 for the Water Treatment Plant generator project to cover materials and work completed through Aug. 20, 2025; both payments were approved unanimously.
Louwagie told the council that the generator projects "will allow the water plant and wells to maintain pressure in the water system if a power outage occurs while the water tower is offline." The council later approved Change Order No. 1 for the Well No. 6 generator in the amount of $5,776.25 to ARC Electric. Motions to approve the pay applications and the change order were made and seconded by council members and recorded as unanimous votes.
