Perez reported estimated costs including about $13,000 to move electrical, $14,000 for windows, $10,000 for the shingle portion of the roof, and roughly $45,000 to frame an office and update bathrooms — cumulative estimates near or over $100,000.
Perez said the walls are uninsulated and that the electrical panel is too close to the bathroom, and noted the building is classified commercial so it is not eligible for utility-provided energy audits. The council directed staff to obtain at least two contractor estimates and to place the issue on a future work session agenda to decide whether to repair or consider building replacement or consolidation with the library.
