Staff presented a two-year solid waste disposal contract proposed between Greensville County (the landfill operator) and the City of Emporia, which would make the county the designated permitted landfill for municipal solid waste under a contract with specified rates: $61 per ton for municipal solid waste, $15 per ton for clean wood/leaves, and $125 per ton for tires; recycled materials and white goods would have no charge.
After presentation of the contract terms, a motion was made and seconded and the board approved Resolution 27-9 to accept the contract for the next two years. Supervisors took a roll-call vote to finalize the action.
