Board approves special-use permit for 250-foot Verizon tower

After a staff presentation, counsel for the applicant, Lisa Murphy, told the board that the proposed 250-foot self-support lattice tower would fill a gap in coverage where there are no towers within about five miles, and that the site offers setbacks and buffering to limit visual impact. She said the facility is being designed for Verizon but will accommodate up to three additional collocators.
The board moved and took a roll-call vote to approve Special Use SP-4-2026. Planning staff and the planning commission had recommended approval with six conditions; counsel and the applicant indicated willingness to comply with the listed conditions before construction.
