Staff provided a roundup of park projects across the city: planting activity, infrastructure, and ongoing maintenance work. The public‑works and parks teams said about 21–22 new trees had been planted in Dracaena Park and that they expect additional plantings in Crocker, Hall, Fenway and Hampton as funds permit. Staff also noted a recent campaign to tag newly planted trees with species names to aid public identification.
On the Piedmont Bridge project staff said fabrication is nearly complete and that crews hope to crane in a single bridge span and bolt it to abutments in February or early March; the work is supported by a Prop 68 per‑capita grant with expected reimbursement to the city. Staff described outreach to the school district because some abutment work requires access over district property. On irrigation, staff said they are pursuing East Bay MUD rebates for water‑efficiency work and hoped to capture up to $10,000 per eligible account; staff cautioned paperwork and administrative capacity will limit uptake. Finally, staff reported fountain retiling and light repairs completed but said a new transformer has been ordered to restore full operation.
