The Piedmont Unified School District Board of Education voted 5–0 to accept the district's 2024–25 independent financial audit after an audit supervisor reported an unmodified opinion and no findings.
"No findings, no material weaknesses, and no significant deficiencies identified in either the financial statements, federal awards, or state awards," Octavia Luquin Herrera, the audit supervisor from Christy White, Inc., told the board. She said the auditors issued an unmodified opinion — the highest level — and highlighted key figures: total capital assets of $131,700,000 (an increase of $1.9 million from the prior year), long‑term liabilities of $178,200,000 (a decrease of $23,000,000), and a district net position of $5,400,000 (an increase of $11,000,000).
Board members thanked staff for producing a clean audit and asked a few follow‑up questions about the decrease in long‑term liabilities; the auditor offered to provide additional detail. The motion to accept the audit was moved, seconded, and carried 5–0.
