Makanda board adopts annual appropriation ordinance for fiscal 2026-27

Clerk Leslie Yambert presented the ordinance to the board; the minutes record the ordinance title as "Ordinance 2026-1 AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR ALL CORPORATE PURPOSES FOR THE VILLAGE OF MAKANDA, ILLINOIS, JACKSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 2026, AND ENDING APRIL 30, 2027." The Board took individual voice votes and "all present at roll call voted yes," according to the record.
Earlier in the meeting the treasurer presented the Treasurer's Report and a list of bills payable. Trustee Wolff moved to accept the treasurer's report and pay the bills; Trustee Dalton seconded and the motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. The treasurer also advised that, per a prior board approval at the March 3 meeting, he will transfer funds from the Village General Fund into a liquid certificate of deposit the following day.
