Union City Council approves routine agenda, minutes and bills; reiterates vision statement

Union City Borough Council convened at 6:00 p.m. Sept. 16 at the First Global Methodist Church and approved the meeting agenda, the minutes from Aug. 27 and the secretary's report. All procedural motions, including authorization to pay unpaid bills, carried unanimously.
The council opened with its vision statement: “The Union City area is a thriving rural community of families, businesses and organizations dedicated to encouraging growth while maintaining small town values.” Council President Riley Cross called the meeting to order and noted Councilors Cross, Osborn, Steadman and Kerns were present; Joyce, Winkler and Uber were absent. Mayor Robert Wolf, Solicitor Tim Wachter, Borough Manager Cindy Wells, Constituent Services Representative Kim Tuszynski, Police Chief David Pernice and Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips were also listed as present.
Routine business also included the council's approval of a motion to adjourn at 6:50 p.m. and notification that an executive session on real estate, personnel and contracts took place after the public meeting with no action expected.
