During the public-comment period, Verlyn Fast, owner of Gathering Acres, addressed the board about Ordinance 2013-18-CM and read from the Area Plan Commission staff report (April 11, 2013) to clarify restrictions on open public events in rural zones and the distinctions that apply to agricultural rental halls. Fast sought to ensure county understanding of applicable restrictions and distinctions in rural zoning.
Justin Kendall, a Tippecanoe County resident, told the commissioners he sought further county action in response to comments he made at the July 6 meeting regarding Tippecanoe County Emergency Ambulance Service, Inc. He said he did not believe the corporation was complying with its state-law meeting obligations and argued the county should not provide financial assistance to a company that is not in compliance. Commissioner Murtaugh moved to adjourn after public comment and President Brown adjourned the meeting.
