County counsel explained Resolution 2026-30-CM as a housekeeping item that designates county roles for the 425 North project. Counsel said the resolution names the Tippecanoe County highway director "as the employee and responsible charge" for the project (a designation similar to INDOT project practices) and designates Commissioner Murtaugh as the county's representative under an interlocal agreement with the City of West Lafayette.
A commissioner moved to approve the resolution "under the designations just stated by our attorney," the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said the designation clarifies authority and coordination responsibilities for the interlocal agreement on the 425 North project.
The resolution formalizes delegation to support project coordination with the city and to simplify administrative responsibilities for the county's portion of the work.
