West Linn band seeks continued support, cites pandemic losses

"We're a group of about 30 individuals...we meet at Rosemont Middle School," O'Donnell said, describing the band's multigenerational membership and the group's reliance on stipends, past festival performances and modest dues to pay a conductor. O'Donnell described pandemic-related loss of revenue and invited the committee to use the band for summer concerts at Hammerly Park and Oak Willamette Park.
Committee members thanked O'Donnell and asked questions about repertoire and rehearsal locations; one committee member noted the group's potential to support community events. The public comment did not result in an immediate separate allocation but was considered as part of the overall grant review process.
