During the public-comment period, resident Debbie Herold asked whether the Treasurer will attend board meetings and whether the board had recruited additional members. Mayor Rhonda Hodges responded that the Treasurer 'has a fulltime job and children so not sure if she can make meetings' but that Rhonda would be able to answer finance questions in her stead. Debbie also asked about recruitment; Rhonda said no new board members had been recruited.
At the non-agenda public comments, Alice Dailey questioned a building placed on property without a permit; Trustee Rodney Smith said it is a shed, not a fixed structure. A resident identified as Pat warned that taxes could increase due to the Illini Bluffs development and said she had investigated emergency-texting systems but found them costly, suggesting the village link to the website once it is complete.
