Mapleton committee reports new water equipment; board agrees to December bill credits

Ben Hausam, chair of the Health & Water Committee, told the board the department is "caught up on reads and starting maintenance" and that "new equipment has been installed." The remarks were made during committee reports at the Sept. 10 meeting.
Separately, the board discussed a budgeted plan to provide customer relief: Rhonda Hodges reminded members that the board had previously discussed giving a "$100.00 credit on water bills and a free month of garbage" during the December billing cycle, funded from surplus in the Water and Garbage accounts; the board agreed to apply these credits on December bills. Resident Bill Hodges told the board that the village water "is testing fine" when asked about water quality.
